Ozone

Ozone in dentistry

Ozone (O3) is usually produced by dissociation of molecular oxygen (O2) into activated oxygen atoms.  There is high oxidation potential in Ozone gas, and it has a better effect than chloride when it used as an antimicrobial agent against bacteria, viruses. Ozone also has ability to to increase blood circulation as well as immune response.

Ozone for root canal treatment

In dentistry, ozone is a proven way to increase the success of root canal treatments. Here, the ozone gas is introduced into the tooth canals via a fine cannula and significantly reduces the remaining bacterial potential. The risk of eventually occurring cyst formation is significantly reduced.
