The wand
The wand – new painless local anesthesia
“The wand” is a modern device for local anesthesia at the dentist. This anesthetic method was developed especially for anxiety patients and children.
A particularly thin injection needle is used, which is placed between the periodontal bone and the bone. The handpiece looks like a thin pencil over which, computer-controlled, the anethetic ist applied in a slow and comfortable way.
The wand replaces the traditional syringe in dentistry. With the wand, the patient often does not notice that he has received an injection. Further benefit of this form of local anesthetic: The tongue, cheeks and lips will not feel numb after treatment.
The anesthetic works within one minute and is not released into the bloodstream. This allows the dentist to start working immediately. After the treatment, the patient can easily return to his everyday routine, as he does not feel any swelling of his lips, can smile and even drink something without hesitation.
