Generally we use the apex locator for endodontic treatment to measure the lenght of your root canal.

Steps

• remove caries
• open chamber
• remove infected tissue in root canal
• measure the length of the root canal (at this stage, the apex locator is used with x ray)
• shape the root canal
• fill the root canal
• further conservative and prosthodontic treatment
